Although we primarily post about financial topics, we’ve decided to start sharing our adventures and interesting discoveries as part of our Tuesday posts. Sometimes the best stories come from the unexpected!
Over the weekend, my fiancée and I set out on an adventure—not just to find shark teeth, but to hunt for the ultimate prize: a Megalodon tooth. We’d heard that South Carolina is the place to search, so we packed our gear and embarked on a grueling two-day expedition.
Day One: The Dig Begins
Our first day was intense, to say the least. We spent a solid six hours digging, barely taking breaks, each of us determined to uncover something special. By the end of the day, we had collected eight teeth. Five of them were particularly exciting, including two Megalodon teeth—massive and awe-inspiring—and even a crocodile tooth, which was an unexpected bonus.

Day Two: Dirt, Patience, and a Big Find
The second day was less physically demanding. This time, we focused on sifting through piles of dirt. The process was slower, but it paid off. We found dozens of smaller teeth, each one adding to our growing collection. But the highlight of the day came from a careful search through the mounds—my fiancée unearthed the best tooth she’s ever found.
She’s been collecting shark teeth her whole life, and this one topped them all. The look on her face said it all—it was a moment we won’t forget.

What’s Next?
It was such a fun experience, and I can’t wait to go on more excursions like this one. Our next trip will likely take place in Florida, but if anyone has recommendations for great fossil hunting spots, feel free to leave a comment below. We’re always looking for our next adventure!
